One person’s trash is this artist’s palette.
As an artist, I have always seen the ‘potential’ in tossed-away items and materials when others couldn’t. It stems from my childhood in a large family with limited income. If I wanted to create something, I had to use what was lying around the house or yard – we couldn’t afford to buy craft materials. That experience has given me an eye for finding the diamond in the rough. I can visualize what lies under that chipped paint, what can be crafted from that leftover ball of yarn, or what treasures surface from that broken necklace. I love creating new and beautiful treasures from items tossed by others.
